After our first tournament, we were hooked and wanted more. In March, we played our second tournament, which was X-Points. We convinced one of our friends to try Old School as well, and X-Points was his first tournament in a long time.

Like our first tournament, we decided to explore the nightlife a day in advance. This time, we were in Roosendaal. While it wasn’t quite as vibrant as Tilburg, we still had a great time and were well oiled and ready for the game, so we thought…

The X-point format aims to promote a more balanced and diverse metagame by assigning point values to certain powerful cards. This point system restricts the number of high-impact cards that can be included in a deck, encouraging players to explore more creative and less repetitive strategies. Additionally, unlike some Old School formats, X-point allows cards from the Fallen Empires.

With The fallen Empires your unlock a lot of powerfull cards of course, one of us had to build a discard deck. And let’s just say it wasn’t one of the other guy!! They build a white weenie with white knights, orders, preachers and circels and the other one build a deck with the name: There is more than meets the eye.

The Old School Magic tournament kicked off with a warm welcome from Louis, the organizer. His friendly words and passion for the game quickly put everyone at ease. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as players exchanged stories.

The Old School Magic community is known for its welcoming nature, and this tournament was no exception. Newcomers were quickly made to feel like part of the family. The day was filled with friendly competition, shared passion, and a deep appreciation for the game.

I couldn’t resist the opportunity to buy at the power negen pop-up store and added a few cards to my collection it was a great start to a day.

We had a lot of fun, meeting new people and really got the old school fealing. Another great tournament in the pocket!!!
